<div class="content"><h1><span style="color: #800000;">Love To Eat</span> - Our Story</h1>
<p>"Love To Eat" is a Sustainable Food Heritage and Tourism Initiative that celebrates the abundance of top quality food produced and that is served in and around the area of East Perthshire.From the Field, River or Moor to the kitchens of Cafes, Restaurants, Hotels and Bed & Breakfasts, we aim to support those offering the very best service alongside the area's best produce. <em>Read More....</em> From the High Hills and vibrant communities of Glenshee and Strathardle to the towns of Blairgowrie, Rattray, Alyth, Meigle and Coupar Angus, set in the fertile Strathmore Valley, at every turn you will find a "taste" of the area's Food Heritage.</p>
<p>The project will span the next 2 years and is being driven forward under the leadership of Tracey Baxter and the Blairgowrie & East Perthshire Tourist Association (BEPTA) and is being funded in the main, as detailed below.</p>
<p>BEPTA is a not-for-profit organisation with a volunteer management committee, dedicated to promoting East Perthshire as a year-round, sustainable, quality tourism destination. It will be supporting the project both financially and in-kind with support from the BEPTA volunteer committee, non-committee members and many others in the community.</p>
<p>The funding, in excess of £70,000, has been granted to support the 2-year <strong>Love to Eat </strong>project following on from a successful pilot run last year. This award is being funded by the Scottish Government and the European Community Rural Tayside LEADER 2007-2013 Programme and by Perth & Kinross Council ‘<em>Developing Rural Tourism Project</em>’.</p>
<p><strong>The project is to promote locally sourced food, quality produce and producers, eating establishments and good service throughout Blairgowrie and East Perthshire.</strong> Our sustainable approach to tourism will see us crossing all sectors of business and involving the community too, as with this approach, we believe that, the message will be louder and the benefits felt deeper and wider. We are aiming high in all of these avenues to encourage more visitors to the area where we ultimately want to be the best!</p>
