<h2> ERIS Trains Ivorian Community Radio Journalists in Conflict Sensitive Reporting</h2>
<h3>March 2011</h3>
<div id="newstext"> <p>From 21-25 February, ERIS provided training in Accra, Ghana for community radio journalists from Ivory Coast in conflict sensitive reporting. <br/><br/>Following the contested November presidential elections, the political situation has become increasingly tense and the ERIS program aims to assist radio journalists in promoting conflict resolution through their work, rather than inflaming tensions. The training had a particular focus on designing radio programming for outreach to youth, since disaffected youth can often instigate incidents of conflict and violence. Following the training, ERIS experts will provide ongoing assistance to participants through an online blog, and the journalists will produce a joint civic education radio programme targeting youth. <br/><br/>ERIS has been working in Ivory Coast since 2008, supporting community radio, providing voter education and assisting civil society organisations to conduct media monitoring.</p>
