<h2> Ethiopia Media Support Project</h2>

<div id="newstext"> <p>In March 2010 ERIS launched a support project for Ethiopian media consisting of a capacity-building project for journalists and a media monitoring programme. The project was implemented in close cooperation with the School of Journalism of Addis Ababa University (SJ AAU).</p>
<p>The training sessions reached more than 100 Ethiopian journalists and were held in Addis Ababa and the regional centres of Awassa, Nazareth, Bahir dar and Makele. </p>
<p>They aimed at improving the quality of media coverage during the May 2010 parliamentary election, including editorial standards, accuracy of reporting, balance in coverage of the campaign, and the electoral process itself.</p>
