Last year Apple released their mobile PC via their slate table PC known as the Ipad, with this release it has strengthened the speculation that the era of mobile is at hand. During the CES 2011 convention we have seen a lot of new technology that most of which are dealing with mobile and it is because of this that many SEO experts are starting to make preparations for the possible increase in the field of mobile search. Anticipating these types of progress in terms of technology which are going to affect the field of search engine optimisation, would help increase revenue for those in the online business. To start off with the mobile search engine optimisation process it would be necessary to follow the same format as what is done in a normal search engine optimisation process and that is research, keyword research in particular.

It is a known fact that search for mobile is different from the normal internet search are the applications are made a lot more compact and not to mention that there are other players dominating the mobile search not only the big three which are Google, Yahoo and Bing. This is the reason why it would be very helpful for SEO Consultants to take the following mobile search engine optimisation processes.

1. Use Google Mobile keywords – this is the service that Google made available to include mobile search volume into the keyword research for internet or website content. Google mobile Keywords could account for around ten percent (10%) of the total query volume of the search engine giant.

2. Make mobile formatted contents for your website – The year 2010 saw the increase in the sale of smartphones which are of course enabled to conduct mobile browsing, not to mention the predicted releases of Ipad rivals making the race for mobile application and search engine optimisation a lot more significant. This is why for most webmasters it would be prudent to format their website to being compatible with mobile search or with mobile content format.

For now these two points for consideration would help you start with making your site mobile friendly, a lot more tips and tricks may be updated as soon as they unfold.

Lots of SEO related forums, blogs and community boards are going crazy about the latest Google pagerank update. Why so crazy? you might ask, well when Google usually does a pagerank update, every webmaster who knows what pagerank is checks to see if their website has increased since the last update (historically every three months or so). However Google hasn’t done a toolbar pagerank update since April 2010, and webmasters, and SEO specialists all over were wondering if this was the end of Google’s updates? Well good news all you pagerank lovers, it looks like its still here as over the last 5 days sites all over the web have been seeing increases & decreases in their toolbar PR.

To find out what pagerank your website is simply to go one of the many FREE pagerank checker tools throughout the internet and simply just type your domain name in to see what pagerank your web page has been given by the search giant. However, remember this…. Pagerank does not effect your rankings! Just because you ahve a good pagerank, this doesn’t mean that your website is going to be listed high on the search engines. Likewise, if you have a low pagerank, you can still be number 1 on Google and the other major search engines.

A keyword is a very essential part of an SEO company’s SEO campaign. This is due to the fact that it is through keywords that Search engine users are searching for the websites that they are searching for, it is therefore imperative that a website’s chosen keyword should rank high in a search engine results page ranking. The ultimate purpose of ranking high on the chosen keywords in the search engine’s SERP is to gain more traffic for possible conversion and revenue. Making a chosen keyword for a website to rank high in a search engine results page could be a very daunting task and many SEO companies find that sometimes their client website would rank best on the General Keyword terms but would rank poorly on specific search or keyword terms or vice versa. This type of problem could emanate from different sources or reasons but one of the most common reason on why this happens is the fact that there is a poor page to page linking as caused by indiscriminately linking one page to another. This process of indiscriminate linking will dilute the organisational theme of the website making it a lot more difficult for the chosen keywords to naturally rank in search engines.

To solve this problem top SEO experts are resorting to siloing. Siliong is a solution for problems arising from unfocused linking giving you the opportunity to achieve high search engine ranking for both the search specific and general keywords via themed vertical page linking. There are two type of Siloing, one is directory silo and the other the virtual silos. To start creating a directory silo you have to prepare a single directory where you will place like-content pages. The key here is to properly group contents which are closely related with each other and place them in a single directory. Categorising contents with other similar contents would increase efficiency in crawling the content pages.

For a virtual silo, the theme is developed through linking. The silo here is determined by the pages that the main silo links to, this can be achieved by creating a landing page or a main page and there are several pages that are linking to the said landing page or main page to support such landing page.

Following these two types of silo structures could help increase the crawling efficiency for search engine bots which would in turn help increase the visibility of your chosen keywords to the search engines.

Many SEO consultants are anchoring their SEO campaign or efforts on the different current trending topics. However, for those SEO experts who are focused only on one niche it would be impossible to keep track of trending topics especially so if such niche is not really frequently trending. Trending issues may be tracked through Google trends and other third party website tracking application but as you may already noticed if you are a fan of such applications that it does not focus in on a single topic rather it presents a myriad of different trending topics. You may be able to focus on a topic through its trend search but you might just be disappointed on the results. A better way of a focused analysis on your chosen niche and even on your website is through your analytics. The analytics application is able to track visits to your website thus any data gathered from analytics would help you understand and determine the current trending topic in your webpage. First we have to understand several key features of analytics which is essential in determining your trending topic.

1. Pages/Visit – this part of your analytics application displays the average number of pages viewed for every visit.

2. Visits – a database of the number of unique visits initiated by the visitor to your website.

3. % New Visits – As the name implies this would be the total percentage of traffic or people who visited your website for the very first time.

4. Avg Time on Site – this is the time or average amount of time that your visitor spend viewing your website.

For you to become successful in tracking trends in your website it is imperative to give a full interpretation on the data gathered from the features as stated above. For the Visits feature you have to identify first the niche and the most likely causes of entry of traffic in your website, identify the traffic pattern and from there determine any spikes in data that could happen which could mean a trending in your website, this concept also is true with the data on Pages/Visits feature. For the Avg time on site again you have to determine the total average time spent by the user on your site before determining any sudden increase on data which you could later on interpret as a trend on your site and finally the % of New Visit determine a monthly average number of new users and if there are sudden increases that could be a trend in your site. Finding sudden spikes in your data could mean a trend on your website thus it would be time to investigate to determine what caused the spiking of data and how you could harness it to keep a steady increase in your traffic.

Just last year many Search Engine Optimisation Companies anticipated and lauded the release of Google’s new search engine algorithm which was brought about by the launching of the search engine giant’s new product, the Google instant and the Google instant preview. With the introduction of these two new features for the Google search engines the search engine giant’s ranking factor was also modified in ways that would require SEO Consultants as well as SEO Experts to make some changes in their website and SEO campaign approach in order to accommodate Google’s new ranking factors. Change is constant in the world of the search engine giant because of the fact that the company is constantly improving their products and the delivery of their services to their clients or loyal users. It is because of this passion to improve that Google has again rolled out another new feature, this time involving a Google product the Google Adwords. It is a known fact that Google Adwords has become one of Internet Advertiser’s tool for generating revenue for their respective website and it is also a known fact that Google has not yet provided for any avenue for Adwords user to manage the use of negative keywords.

In the recent update that was released by Google in their Google Adwords service however, the search engine company has released their new Adwords interface in order to accommodate or allow internet marketer to be able to utilise a single negative keyword list across multiple campaigns. This will make it easier for internet marketers to incorporate negative keywords to multiple campaigns.

Another change that was implemented by Google is the modification of the Google Search ads display. It can be observed that the search ads of Google had some changes like that of a bigger space was allocated for a headline ad in order to accommodate the first line of description, ads being displayed in rows of three, and two description lines being merged into one for better presentation were among the said changes.

SEO Positive, a leading innovator in ethical search engine optimisation, has announced the opening of its new central London office. This new office will enable SEO Positive to improve its service delivery and continue its expansion, which has seen it leap to the forefront of the UK’s search marketing industry in the last year.

The new office is located at London CityPoint, a prestigious and eye catching office facility in the heart of the city’s financial district. SEO Positive’s technical and pay-per-click teams are to be based at the new office initially, with plans to expand the London based team to suit demand.

The move to a new office comes at a time when SEO Positive is continuing to expand its team at a rapid pace to meet the demands of its growing client portfolio. In the last few months it has added a new senior web developer, Pay-per-click expert and a new client services manager to its team. SEO Positive has also had to move offices twice in the last year to meet the demands of its rapid growth.

“We’re looking forward to moving into our new London CityPoint office and establishing a more prominent presence in the capital,” said SEO Positive’s Operations Director Ben Austin, “We’ve been delighted at the amount of growth we’ve experienced in the last year, which has seen our client base expand rapidly. We put this down to our ethical and transparent approach to search marketing, which is an attraction to businesses that want to know exactly how their budget is spent and how it translates into higher rankings and website traffic.”

SEO Positive has won a number of awards in the last year for its search marketing services. This includes being ranked as the #1 provider of integrated search marketing services in the UK.
Facebook is rapidly becoming the most popular website or social media network worldwide, this is evidenced by the fact that the social media network giant had gained more than five hundred million users last year and the population is still growing. Further, the social media network was regarded as the most visited website of 2010 with 8.9% internet users share according to Hitwise, an online survey service company. These exponential growth of Facebook even became a spark or catalyst to topple Google from the top spot in terms of annual users share. It is because of this growth of Facebook both in business as well as in popularity that investors have started or have planned on buying stocks from the social media network giant even before such stock become public.
Goldman Sachs made a gambit by becoming the first to purchase Facebook Tech Stocks before such stock would go public. Goldman Sachs invested four hundred fifty million dollars which thus gave the social media network giant a theoretical value of fifty billion dollars. This investment by Goldman Sachs on a Tech Stock have increased the fear of some investors that there might be a repeat of the bubble burst which happened during the 1990’s which was initiated by the merger deal between Time Warner and America Online which caused the long drought for technology stocks, which was eventually broken by Apple.
Apart from Facebook other tech companies are also generating interests before their tech stocks goes public, one of them is Zynga who is reportedly pouring investments coming from Mail.ru which is formerly known as Digital Sky Technologies. Another company that is reportedly privately raising money is Groupon which is believed to be performing such private fund raising after having turned down the $6 Billion acquisition by Google. Twitter is also another player in the private investment game by investing its shares with new tech companies through the secondary market. With these several private investments going on the question remain will the Bubble burst once again?

SEO Positive, a leading ‘white hat’ internet marketing agency, has been voted the UK’s #1 supplier of integrated search marketing services. This ranking was awarded by TopSEOs, an independent authority on internet marketing and web design vendors. The award comes at a time when SEO Positive is rapidly expanding as it solidifies its position at the forefront of the UK’s internet marketing industry.

The top ranking for integrated search marketing was awarded following an extensive evaluation by TopSEOs research team. They assessed SEO Positive’s ability to consistently deliver high search engine rankings and an excellent ROI for Pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns. SEO Positive was found to have a strong track record of delivering page 1 results using ethical ‘white hat’ tactics for literally 100s of clients. This is now partnered by its PPC expertise.

SEO Positive recently added a PPC expert, Evaldas Balcius, to its team to enhance the PPC services it can provide to clients. Evaldus has exceptional PPC expertise, having managed a £100,000 PPC budget for a leading supplements supplier. This expertise will be in high demand now that SEO Positive is recognised as the UK’s #1 supplier of search and PPC marketing services.

“SEO Positive has always aimed to differentiate itself by being transparent in how we deliver page 1 results,” said Ben Austin, SEO Positive’s Operations Director, “Our clients know exactly how and where their budget is being spent. We think this ethical, transparent approach is one of the key reasons we’ve been recognised as the UK’s #1 integrated search marketing agency.”

SEO Positive has also recently become Google Adwords Certified and Google Analytics Certified. These awards follow an evaluation by Google of SEO Positive’s expertise in delivering pay-per-click campaigns and its ability to provide businesses with clear visibility of their SEO campaign’s progress.

SEO Positive will be showcasing its services and providing advice to businesses and attendees at this year’s Internet World Exhibition (10-12th May), where they will be hosting an 18m² stand. In furthering its involvement with the event, SEO Positive is the official sponsor of the Internet World Exhibition website throughout January.
