<p class="normaltext">Very few people really enjoy their first visit to a dentist – even one as helpful and caring as Mews! If you suffer from dental phobia or require extensive dental work, you might consider the benefits of dental treatment under sedation.</p>
<h1>Sedation Dentistry </h1>
<p class="blackboldtext">Is Sedation Dentistry right for Me?</p>
<p class="normaltext">Consider your response to the following points:</p>
<br/>
<ul class="list_points">
<li>Fear of dental treatment and dental anxiety;</li>
<li>History of traumatic / bad dental experiences; </li>
<li>Difficulty getting numb; </li>
<li>Very sensitive gag reflex or difficulty opening;</li>
<li>Extremely sensitive or painful teeth;</li>
<li>Complex dental problems; or a need for surgery requiring invasive
treatment;</li>
<li>In denial of a dental problem until the pain is unbearable;</li>
<li>Have not received professional dental care in many years, perhaps
decades;</li>
<li>Go from dental practice to dental practice, or doctors, to renew
painkiller prescriptions for dental problems.</li>
</ul>
<p class="blackboldtext">For most patients:</p>
<br/>
<ul class="list_points">
<li>It Really Works! You really can relax through your dental treatment;</li>
<li>After your treatment you will remember very little about the
treatment;</li>
<li>You won't remember any sounds or smells;</li>
<li>You can relax for up to five or six hours after the IV sedation.
The length of time you are relaxing will vary depending on your
treatment and the type of anaesthesia employed;</li>
<li>Complex dental treatments that often require multiple appointments can often be done in only one or two sessions;</li>
<li>Sedation dentistry is a safe way to reduce the fatigue of extended dental treatment requiring long visits to the dental surgery.</li>
