<p class="health">Magnetic Therapy is the application of a magnetic field to living body tissue to help relieve pain and accelerate the natural healing process. <br/>

In recent times magnetic therapy has become more popular due to the advancement of magnet technology and increased popularity in alternative health practices.. There are many commercial products now available such as as magnetic jewellery, sports wraps, mattresses, pillows, and static magnets for massage therapists and healers. There is even a comprehensive range of products available for pets.<br/>
<br/>
A magnetic field can be generated in the form of a pulsed electro-magnetic field or a static field. Professionals use pulsed electro-magnetic field and equipment, a technology that does appear to provide superior results when compared to a static magnetic field. This type of equipment is used in hospitals and by physiotherapists and needs an electricity supply or bulky batteries to make it work.<br/>
<br/>
Static magnetic fields can be generated from various magnetic material, from flexible magnetised sheet (as used for fridge magnets ) through to complex rare earth magnets. There are a number of suppliers of this type of 'magnotherapy' products and Aromacaring has found that some suppliers are considerably more knowledgeable about their product than others and it pays to shop around asking a few pertinent questions before you decide to buy any products. <br/>
<br/>
There is no scientific evidence to support that the use of magnetic fields will increase blood circulation and blood flow, however, there are certain physical changes to the property of blood and tissue cells when exposed to a magnetic force providing that the field is of sufficient gauss to cause agitation in the molecular structure - while blood flow may not be increased, it may become more efficient.<br/>
<br/>
There needs to be more research on the effect of magnets on the capacity of oxygen and iron bonding in red blood cells to make magnetic therapy a more acceptable intervention for conventional health professionals. In the mean time, there continues to be a wealth of anecdotal evidence to support the benefits magnetic therapy and few professionals will dispute its value. However, there also needs to be a distinction made between the effectiveness of pulsed magnetic fields and static magnetic fields in order not to confuse the apparent effectiveness of each application.<br/>
