their lives, and to assist them back into society. Rehab programs are available for all types of addictions and many societal-related problems too. Whilst there are many common elements to all rehabilitation programs, each one is designed around the needs of the individual and varies with the type of problem being experienced and the depth to which the individual has been affected.<br/><br/>Rehabilitation programs can be accessed through your GP or directly through voluntary organisations, helplines and special rehab clinics, but as with all addictions the first step towards recovery is to admit that there is a problem. The same is true for any other illness for which there are rehabilitation options - you have to make the first move!<br/><br/>In cases where there is an addiction to a substance, such as drugs or alcohol, medication to help manage withdrawal symptoms can be administered on rehab programs. Extensive and intensive psychological, emotional and physical support to help prevent relapses and start you back on the road to permanent recovery is also available.<br/><br/>Overcoming addictions in particular though can be very difficult. Relapses are common and rehabilitation programs recognise this.
