<p><font face="MS Sans Serif" size="2" color="#666666">Cavern City Tours would like to welcome all of our friends (old and new) to Liverpool.<br>
This year groups are travelling from Sweden, USA, Japan, Russia and Czechoslovakia, thus making it a truly international event.<br>
Add to this individual travellers from another 25 countries and you get the idea that the music of The Beatles is truly a global phenomenon.<br>
For Cavern City Tours, 1991-92 was a year of consolidation after recent expansion, and our proudest achievement has been to re-establish The Cavern as a live music venue, with performances from artistes such as Donovan and Albert Lee.<br>
Indeed, until July, Donovan was going to appear at this year’s Convention until a last-minute re-scheduling of his plans made it impossible.<br>
However, he has stated that he will perform at some time in the future, which would be great, as he has so many personal anecdotes and memories of being in India with The Beatles.<br>
On the Beatle front, it has been a very busy and exacting year, with George performing live in Japan and England, and issuing a new live album; Ringo has a new album and is on tour; and Paul’s new album and tour are also both imminent. There seems to be more going on than ever before. All three Beatles touring and issuing new albums!<br>
And to top it off we are all eagerly awaiting the seven-part Apple TV film of The Long And Winding Road.<br>
For Liverpool itself it has been a significant year, as the city hosted part of the Tall Ships race, which received world-wide publicity.<br>
The city has also received acclaim for its plans for a new School of Performing Arts, and we know who is behind that one, don't we? None other than Mr James Paul McCartney.<br>
The fund-raising has only just begun for LIPA (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts) and CCT, together with other Beatle related companies, aim to help in any way we can.<br>
This is the first opportunity this weekend for Beatle fans to help raise money, and we know you’ll respond.<br>
Once again we sincerely hope you will all make new friends and renew old friendships.<br>
Above all, we can offer you a sincere Liverpool welcome and feel sure that your visit to this year’s Convention will be memorable.<br>
