The premier of Warriors Journey was held at the Pictureville Theatre on March 17th 2001. The day was hosted by Andrew Staton (BBLA) and John little celebrated author of many books about Bruce Lee. A good friend of mine, Peer from Norway had travelled across the North Sea to see this European Premier on Friday the 16th March.

We travelled the 155 miles from the North East to Bradford for 10.00am, where we met Carl and Andrew. I had the pleasure of meeting John Little prior to his opening of the day's events. This took place in the downstairs of the theatre.

John Little opened the day with an outline of the event; he thanked all of the BBLA fans and others for making the journey. The first showing was Bruce 's screen test for the Original 1965 "Number One Son". There was a little hiccup at the start when the film spooled the reel, this was soon sorted and the test was shown. The next piece of film history was the first episode of Longstreet, co-written by Bruce. There were also opportunities to ask John questions about the motivational areas of Bruce Lee's life. John also used quotes from Bruce and pieces of information he had picked up through Bruce's private papers. A very enjoyable session.

Bruce Lee in his own words was next on the bill, followed by the storyboard of Warriors Journey and an introduction from John, which was very detailed and well constructed. The premier was then shown with the full version footage from 1972 of the Game of Death, as Bruce would have wanted it to have been shown. For those that have seen only the 1978 version of the film with only 11 or so minutes of Bruce in combat - missed a treat! There's over 32 minutes of combat with dialogue and humour, which was sadly lacking in the 78 version.

I personally had not fully understood the relationship with the other characters of the film until this day. A fantastic, well-made and complete film. A credit to John Little, and a credit to the BBLA for getting it shown over here in the UK.

There appears to be a growing cyniscm to John Little by some people for whatever reasons I cannot fully understand. John has made a wonderful job of a very difficult task and should be congratulated not attacked, in my opinion.

At the book signing at the end of the day, (while Enter the Dragon UNCUT was being played inside), John was very pleasant, hospitable, friendly and answered any questions without dodging any issue.

A great day that, if people missed, will never be repeated.
