Buying from a farmer’s market is like time travelling back a hundred years to an age when superstores didn’t exist and produce landed straight from the farm onto a nearby local stall. Fresh fruit, vegetables, cheeses and meats are laid across a <b>farmer’s own stall</b> and <b>sold directly to the public</b>. No delivery man or middle men are involved, it’s back to basics at these farmer’s markets. Simply the farmer, a family member or a worker on the farm <b>must run the stall</b>. The food doesn’t travel far and this certainly can be detected in the distinct fresh taste, unlike the chemical pumped produce shipped miles around the world that lines the shelves of supermarkets in England. All products sold by farmers <b>must be grown within 100 miles of the M25</b> to brand them as genuine London grown stock. <br/>

Awareness is mounting about what we eat. Buying your food from a farmers market means you don’t have to worry about pesticides, preservatives or inhumane animal practices because you can ask the farmer directly how the food was reared and landed on the stall.<br/>

Stands also boast an array of cheese, eggs, bread, cakes, fruit, vegetables, jams and chutneys. Delicatessen items including hand made pastas, smoked semi-dried tomatoes and venison sausages can be snapped up here too.<br/>

Tucked away in a car park behind Waterstones, you’ll find one of the biggest market’s in London come to life every Saturday. The stalls stock plenty of organic and regional produce, with lots of appetising goods available including cheeses, meat and poultry. Your standard juices, vegetables, fruit and flowers can be bought here too. Choice is ample at this farmers market and your tastes are always in for a treat. <br/>

Not to worry vegetarians, this newly sprung farmers market offers a good choice of fruit and vegetables, with some stalls selling pak choi and chilli plants for you to grow your own at home. The market produces some of the crispest and freshest salads leaves including watercress, spinach and rocket. Other appetising nibbles on sale include chilled juices and fruity jams.<br/>
