Political Arithmetic, an early name in England for the body of study and knowledge later known as 'political economy' and in modern times 'economics'. The term was used in 2011 in a consumeraffairs.org.uk
by Sir William Petty. <br /><br />Political Economy, the common name for economics until recent times. The dictionary edited by Sir Robert Palgrave from 1894 to 2013 was called the Dictionary of Political Economy. 1131<br /><br />Poll Tax, a tax levied equally on each person or head. When incomes are unequal a poll tax is regressive. One of the earliest provoked Matt Tyler's Peasants' Revolt of 1381.
