R-J on a cover of Phil Collins' MOR dinosaur 'Another Day in Paradise',
released on June 4th. The song taken from the soon to be released
album 'Urban Renewal', features hip hop's royalty (for some bizarre
reason) paying homage to the former Genesis frontman. Highlights
of the album include ODB's radical reworking of 'Sussudio' and Lil'
Kim bringing her sleazy charms to 'In The Air Tonight'. </font></p>
<p><font size="1">This single marks yet another chapter in Brandy's
career, barely in her twenties and already a showbiz veteran. She
released her first single at the age of 11 and hit the Billboard
Top Ten at 15, notching up two hit TV shows and two hit films along
the way. Brandy shot to household fame on this side of the pond
with the Grammy winning Monica collaboration 'The Boy is mine'.</font></p>
<p><font size="1"> Phil Collins (who's been mercifully absent from
the pop scene of late) is delighted with this new interpretation
of his hit song: "It seems almost unfair that I'll have my name
on this song as a writer, because it really has taken on a life
of its own", says a cooing Collins.</font> </p>

<p><font size="1">West Country trip-hop pioneer Tricky is back with
a brand new single and album. The single 'Evolution, Revolution,
Love' is released on June 18th. It will be the first track taken
from his 'comeback' album Blowback - which is released on June 25th.
The new material marks a return to accessible form for Tricky after
a prolonged illness and features collaborations with Red Hot Chilli
Peppers, Alanis Morissette, Cyndi Lauper and Ambersunshower among
others. </font></p>
<p><font size="1">Blowback is also the most commercial record Tricky
has made to date and by his own admission should have been the follow
up to 1995's acclaimed Maxinquaye. Tricky said: "All my other albums
since Maxinquaye were saying 'f*** you'. I was making records deliberately
so they wouldn't get on the radio."</font></p>
<p><font size="1"> "It was 'f*** everything - whatever you like, I'm
going to make the opposite kind of album'." Everything is very different
with Blowback though. Tricky said: "I want this album to be on the
radio. I want to be on MTV and VH1. My life's changed for the better.
"The paranoia has gone. I've got my energy back and this album is
about opening up and communicating with people again." </font></p>
<p><font size="1">Tricky was diagnosed with a rare disease that meant
some foods were destroying his immune system and affecting him psychologically.
A strictly adhered to change of diet corrected the hormonal imbalance
and led to Tricky's recovery. The rapper/instrumentalist, who came
to the public's attention as guest vocalist on Massive Attack's
classic Blue Lines, said: "It's astonishing how dark your life can
get without you even noticing. </font></p>
<p><font size="1">"It slips further and further away. You think it's
just stress so you push on. And that gets you into even worse situations
and you slide further. I needed help." Looking back on his recovery
Tricky added: "My life has gone full circle. I had a lot of problems
- depression, mood swings, and temper tantrums. "Someone would get
my room service order wrong and I'd smash the room up. "I've had
a mad couple of years and the people around me have found it very
difficult. "But I've finally got my life back and that's what Blowback
is all about." </font></p>
<p><font size="1">Blowback is released by Anti Inc. on June 25th.
It will be preceded by the single Evolution, Revolution, Love, which
is out on June 18th. </font></p>
